Spanish outlet Marca are reporting that PSG and Brazil star Neymar has been offered to his former club Barcelona despite Florentino Perez’s long standing interest in signing him. Whether Barcelona can financially afford this deal or not is a separate question altogether but the prospect of Real Madrid signing him makes it hard for them to refuse to push forward this deal. It is clear that Neymar left Barcelona so that he could step out of Lionel Messi’s shadow and challenge for the Balon D’Or. The situation at Barcelona however remains the same with Messi  showing no sign of slowing down.

A good World Cup with Brazil will surely intensify the speculation surrounding Neymar’s future at PSG. The French league certainly has not proven to be a big enough challenge for the Brazilian and it is certainly not easy to win the Champions League with a club like PSG. Even though PSG has spent a lot of money and has a team stacked with superstars, the Champions League is an unforgiving competition which generally tends to favour the experienced and historically strong clubs.
