Jose Mourinho blames two United stars for the Champions League defeat

After Manchester United’s terrible performance against Sevilla which saw them knocked out of the Champions League, Jose Mourinho privately has blamed two key players for the defeat according to a report in the Daily Star. Mourinho believes that Alexis Sanchez and Paul Pogba, two of the highest earners at Old Trafford should shoulder the blame for United’s lifeless performance. Sanchez had a terrible game against Sevilla and Pogba who came on for the clueless Fellaini in the second half fared even worse than the Belgian.

Jose Mourinho also believes that United have to spend more in the summer to compete with the likes of Manchester City but it remains to be seen whether the United board sanctions him more funds after backing him for two years now. Man United have spent excessively after Sir Alex left and they have a majority of their squad on high wages and long contracts, so there would definitely arrive a time when the board would tighten the purse strings.
