Man United make a huge offer for Real Madrid Star

Manchester United have targeted Real Madrid sensation Marco Asensio with a huge offer in an attempt to lure him away from Madrid according to the Spanish outlet Don Balon. Asensio is highly regarded by Real Madrid and it would certainly take a massive offer for them to let him go. But Real Madrid will be worried with United’s interest as Asensio doesn’t seem to be an integral part of Zidane’s plans. Even with Real’s attacker being out of form this season, Zidane doesn’t trust the young Spaniard enough to start him regularly. So the young Spaniard might opt to leave Madrid if promised more regular game time.

Transfer Rumour Reliability

Don Balon is the source of this transfer rumour and the Spanish outlet are a Tier 5 source in our Football Transfer Sources Reliability Guide. A Tier 5 source is highly unreliable with their reporting, so unless other sources pick up this story, United fans should not get their hopes up too high.

Jose Mourinho is under pressure to match Pep Guardiola’s success at Manchester City. He is bound to demand more money for signings either now in January or in the summer. But it is important for United to buy the right players. After Sir Alex Ferguson left, United’s transfer policy has been abysmal. They have consistently overpaid for their transfers and the contracts offered to some of their signings have been inordinate.
