Jose Mourinho has a chance to become the first Manchester United manager to win a major trophy in his first ever year. They face Claude Puel’s Southampton at the Wembley stadium in the EFL Cup final. United have some injury problems as Henrikh Mkhitaryan has been ruled out and Phil Jones is still a doubt. With Michael Carrick declared fit and ready, Mourinho is expected to opt for a 4-3-3 formation.

Jose Mourinho has switched to a 4-2-3-1 formation in recent weeks but Mkhitaryan’s injury means that the 4-3-3 formation will be back. Wayne Rooney after the recent speculation is expected to start on the bench. Luke Shaw who is having a tough time even getting into the squad is expected to miss out. United’s defence at the moment looks settled with Bailly and Rojo having overtaken last season’s best defender Chris Smalling in the pecking order. It has been a surprising turn of events as many believed that Marcos Rojo didn’t have it in him to become a top defender in the Premier League.
