Manchester United head into second leg of the EFL cup against Hull City after a disappointing draw against Stoke City in the Premier League. But carrying a 2-0 lead into the second leg, United should comfortably reach the final of the EFL cup at Wembley.
Wayne Rooney broke Sir Bobby Charlton’s long standing record with a stunning injury time freekick reminding everyone that his days at the top are not yet over. The United captain should start against Hull, but Mourinho will have to change from the 4-3-3 formation which he has been regularly using to a 4-2-3-1 so that Rooney plays in his favoured number 10 position.
Luke Shaw also is expected to make his comeback after his long layoff. With Hull facing a relegation battle in the Premier League, they won’t be expected to take this game very seriously, so it would be a perfect match for Shaw to return. Pogba should be rested after his back to back poor performances against Liverpool and Stoke. Pogba needs to become more consistent and especially play well in the big games so that he establishes himself in the Premier League and justifies his price tag.
