Mourinho’s incredibly pacy potential 4-2-3-1 formation next season after new signing

With Eric Bailly agreeing terms with Manchester United(Subject to a medical), United have one of the paciest defences in world football. Bailly will be joined by the pacy Smalling at center back who now can afford to play a high line. If the first choice full backs turn out to be Valencia and Luke Shaw, then United’s back four are capable of participating 4X4 relay at the Olympics.

In Attack, United have Martial, Rashford and Depay , all three of them have some serious pace to burn. Of course, with more signings yet to come, this might not be how United start their first game under Mourinho. But this is a signal that Mourinho wants to build a counter attacking team with a solid spine. One drawback of the Bailly signing is the lack of ability to play from the back. Smalling who is not very good on the ball was complemented well by the highly technical Daley Blind last season but with Bailly who is again not comfortbale joining Smalling, this will be a worry for Manchester United
