The Express has reported that Jose Mourinho has met up with Ed Woodward to discuss about the summer transfer window. The report which is based on a report by the Spanish publication El Confidencial says that upto 13 players are at risk of being sold this summer. Many expected that Mourinho will overhaul an massively under performing squad but thirteen is a big number.
Juan Mata who was once already sold by Jose Mourinho heads the list along with compatriot Ander Herrera. Mata who has been disappointing for United this season was not favoured by Mourinho at Chelsea too. Mourinho likes his players to be physical with lots of energy and discipline to defend as well. Oscar was preferred to Mata at Chelsea as the number 10 as the Brazillian’s pressing and energy levels were at much higher levels than that of Mata.
Also players like Depay, Schweinsteiger, Young and Carrick face an uncertain future under Mourinho. Although among them, Michael Carrick is expected to sign a new contract . Even in defence, there will be a clear out as Mourinho isn’t convinced with the likes of Darmian, Jones, Rojo and Valencia.
