Anders Lindegaard has revealed that when he joined Manchester United all the big players including Ryan Giggs,Wayne Rooney and Rio Ferdinand didn’t care about him. In an interview to a Danish paper, Lindegaard reveals his tough life when he first joined United. Also, Lindegaard tells that Ferguson promised him that there was no first choice Goalkeeper and the Dane and De Gea had to fight it out between them for the spot. He continues by saying that at United its every man for himself and the veterans in the dressing room never bothered about the newcomers especially someone unknown from Norway.
“When you sit along with super stars such as Ryan Giggs, Wayne Rooney, Rio Ferdinand, Patrice Evra and NemanjaVidic, who were already part of a great team and having a great season, they did not care for me, they didn’t care about a guy from “Norway” they’ve never heard of, that is how it is on that level in football, no one asked if i wanted to go out and eat with them. In United it is every man for himself, that is just how it is on that level” – Lindegaard
United’s dressing room currently will have a different feel to it with all the seniors having left. Wayne Rooney and Michael Carrick are the only long serving players still left from the 2008 Champions League win. Most of the squad hasn’t won anything at United so someone like Lindegaard from an unknown club in an unknown league will feel more at the home in the current dressing room.
United’ next Premier League game is against Everton which they need to win to maintain pressure on Manchester City who are in fourth place.
