Bayer Leverkusen’s Javier Hernandez has won his third Bundesliga player of the month award in a row. He has scored 13 goals in 16 league game this season and has overall 21 goals in 24 appearances. This is a very good record in a competitive league even though many Premier League fans will disagree. Hernandez was ruthlessly told by Van Gaal that he had minimal chance of playing for Manchester United but the Mexican has gone and shown what Manchester United is missing.

Hernandez was an Old Trafford favorite with his attitude and his extraordinary ability to poach goals when needed the most. He was deemed surplus in Van Gaal’s first season and was sent on loan to Real Madrid which is one of many questionable decisions Van Gaal and Woodward have taken in the past two years. A player who is not getting chances at United was sent to Real so that he could get more game time. Even for disinterested football onlooker that deal didn’t make any sense. Although Hernandez did score a few important goals,he never got the chance to establish himself at Real and had to return back to Manchester United.
