Manchester United face PSV in their first match in the Champions League after a absence of a year. United go into the match without their captain who was injured and missed the Liverpool game too. The Liverpool game saw Van Gaal employ Fellaini as the sole striker but the Belgian struggled to have a sustained impact on the game as he tried hard to adjust to his new role. Later Anthony Martial came on for his debut and sent the Old Trafford faithful into rapture with his dazzling run and a cool finish. But later Van Gaal remarked that Martial might not yet start for United so it is highly doubtful that Martial will be making his full debut against PSV.
Ashley Young also remarked that he is ready to play anywhere Van Gaal asks him to,so it is likely that we will see Young come on and play sometime as the striker. Also Carrick was taken off against Liverpool,so it is likely that he will start against PSV where as Bastian Schweinsteiger will be given an off day for his excellent performance against Liverpool.
