According to a report in the English outlet Express, Liverpool’s hopes of signing Roma’s Alisson hinge on Manchester United’s David De Gea’s future. Reportedly Real Madrid are set to bid for the Spaniard once again and if Manchester United do sell him to the Spanish giants, then Liverpool will be in pole position to sign the Brazilian goalkeeper. If Manchester United hold out and refuse to let De Gea go then Real Madrid might attempt to sign Allisson. It is hard to see the Brazilian choosing Anfield over the Santiago Bernabeu if both the clubs go for him.

In fact there are reports that Zinedine Zidane left Real Madrid due to a dispute regarding transfers which involved Real’s pursuit of De Gea. Zidane clearly felt that Keylor Navas was his number 1 and there was no need for Real to pursue another goalkeeper. Manchester United on the other hand have already made it clear that their goalkeeper is not on sale for any price but might be forced to sell him if the Spaniard himself pushes the move through by submitting a transfer request.
