Manchester United’s pre-season tour continues with a match against European Champions Real Madrid on Sunday. After victories over LA Galaxy, Real Salt Lake and Manchester City, Mourinho must be pleased with the way things are going. One thing, Mourinho is not happy about is how the transfer window has panned out so far for United. Although, they have managed to sign Lukaku and Lindelof, Mourinho wants at least two more. A defensive midfielder is essential for United to compete for the Premier League title this season. It will also allow Pogba a lot more freedom on the pitch.

Man United expected starting lineup against Real Madrid

Jose Mourinho talking ahead of the Real match said, “Tomorrow is a test, that is probably the right word, but I prefer to say an experience for us as a team and for players that didn’t play much in the last match. I am going to play Tim Fosu-Mensah, Axel, Darmian, Mitchell, I am going to play other players and give rest to some players. Pre-season is not for accumulation. Some of them played 90 minutes or 75 minutes against City, so now is a time for others.”

It is clear that Mourinho is not bothered about the results and he is intent on getting all of his players fit and ready for the new season. Players like Fosu-Mensah, Tuanzebe and Mitchell might not feature much during the season, but they have a great chance to impress the manager and force his hand to play them more during the season.

Will Jose Mourinho opt for the 3-5-2 formation next season for Manchester United?
