As rumours on Cristiano Ronaldo’s future are intensifying, we take a look at how the Portuguese star can fit in at Manchester United. Although Morata’s transfer was almost confirmed, the rumours regarding Ronaldo’s future has thrown spanner in the works. Manchester United will lineup in a 4-2-3-1 formation as it has been Mourinho’s favoured formation for the past few seasons.
If United do sign Morata along with Ronaldo, then the latter will be starting in a left sided position but expect him to play off the last man as the game progresses. Signing both the Real players will hamper Martial and Rashford’s playing time. And it surely means that Rooney’s future at the club is over.
United’s defence does have a settled look with Mourinho having multiple options for almost all the positions in defence. Chris Smalling’s future seems to be away from Old Trafford as Mourinho reportedly doesn’t favour him. Left Back is another position which is up open for grabs. Darmian was excellent in the latter part of last season but it remains to be seen whether Mourinho trusts him as the first choice left back. Whatever happens in the Ronaldo saga, this is certainly exciting times for Manchester United fans.
