French outlet L’Equipe have reported that Pogba has informed his friends and some of his teammates that he intends to complete the circle by moving to Manchester United. L’Equipe is not a tabloid newspaper and are generally trustworthy although with deals as big as this one, no one really knows the truth.
The key figure in this whole negotiation seems to be Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola who now after a couple of deals with Manchester United is very close to the hierarchy at Old Trafford. A few years back, Raiola was the one who fell out with Sir Alex and orchestrated Pogba’s move to Juventus. Ferguson refused to bow down to Agent power in modern football and hoped that the players will make sensible decisions on their own but ultimately the agents have taken over. United over the past three years have spent a huge chunk of money on agents but ended up making some very poor signings. But this year under Mourinho, there is hope that the new signings will turn out to be better.
