After one of the most disastrous results in Manchester United’s history, Louis Van Gaal’s side has an easy FA Cup tie to negotiate or at least it is easy on paper. With Van Gaal under severe pressure all the focus will be on United’s board and Woodward on whether they will take the decision to sack him . A defeat against Shrewsbury Town will surely mean that Van Gaal will be sacked although this statement has been made for many matches which United have lost but Van Gaal is still there.

With De Gea and Wayne Rooney joining the ever increasing injury list, Van Gaal doesn’t really have many choice while making the team selection. The burden of attack will heavily lie on Anthony Martial with his attacking colleagues totally off color at the moment. Sergio Romero will look to continue his impressive form although De Gea’s injury is not as serious as first thought to be. Juan Mata who has been criticised heavily for United’s loss in Denmark has to step and fight for his Old Trafford career now. The Spaniard has been wildly inconsistent in his time at United.
